Cockburn cement kiln 6 bagfilter replacement project
Adelaide Brighton Cement undertook a capital works program at its Cockburn Cement Munster operations to ensure compliance with its environmental obligations. Following the success of previous works, the P26SIMJV joint venture was successful in winning the installation of the Kiln 6 Cooler Bag Filter in a competitive tender.
The scope of works included the installation of:
- Bag Filter, including hoppers, plenum, casing, penthouse and bags
- ID Fan and motor
- All insulation and cladding
- All support structures and connection to adjoining ductwork
Components of the bag filter and heat exchanger were supplied free issue in containers. All other duct work and support structures were also issued free issue. The P26SIMJV undertook all cladding and insulation works using in-house expertise.
Process 26 supplied all project management and engineering personnel to the project. Schedule management ensured that the project delivery met Cockburn Cement’s timeframe, and successful commissioning took place in August 2012.
