Frances creek heavy media separation plant
Territory Iron purchased a HMS plant from South Africa to treat a remnant stockpile of 1 million tonnes of low grade iron ore fines.
The plant consisted of a feed hopper arrangement, a scalping screen and pulping bow, the HMS module, a spirals plant for the ultra-fines recovery, and a stacking system.
Process 26 worked with Territory to develop a budget for the structural, mechanical and piping component of the works. This was subsequently converted into a schedule of rates contract.
After the plant was shipped to site in shipping containers, Process 26 provided all supervision, labour and equipment to complete the installation of the plant, including commissioning.
During commissioning, Territory Iron determined that the feed bin geometry and feeder needed to be changed to suit the ore characteristics.
Process 26 designed, fabricated and installed a hopper with revised geometry and a belt feeder within a 6 week window. Plant design throughput was immediately attained.
