Solomon Early Ore Plant Relocation
Leighton Contractors Pty Ltd engaged Process 26 to fast track the installation of an Early Ore Delivery System at the Firetail ROM Project. Remotely processed iron ore fines were trucked to the facility, where it was loaded at rates up to 2,000 tonnes per hour onto an existing overland conveyor system.
To complete the project in the shortest possible time within a limited budget, the scope of works demanded significant re-use of equipment from an existing pre-owned installation at another mine site.
Process 26 produced a plant layout, and once this had been approved, went on to complete the detailed design of the bulk earthworks and foundations, the structural and mechanical equipment plan and the electrical and instrumentation design.
To facilitate the fast track installation requirement, fabrication and manufacture were undertaken in conjunction with design activities and site construction works.
Site responsibilities included the provision of all management, supervision, personnel, materials and equipment to complete the structural, mechanical, piping and electrical installation of the facility.
The project duration from concept inception through to completion of commissioning was six weeks.
